This trend is relevant to George as a well-run city, commercial capital of the Garden Route and educational centre. Skae makes reference to other articles where it is has been found that Americans are leaving big cities for smaller places with populations of between 500,000 and a million because they offer academic and cultural stimulation and are centres of creative thinking and innovation. In Britain this trend is also emerging where roleplayers recognize that collaborative approaches can lead to partnership funding and local economic growth.
